The angry ranting of an obscure, small-party politician, the first volume of Mein Kampf was virtually ignored when it was originally published in 1925. Likewise the second volume, which appeared in 1926. The book details Hitler's childhood, the "betrayal" of Germany in World War I, the desire for revenge against France, the need for lebensraum for the German people, and the means by which the National Socialist party can gain power. It also includes Hitler's racist agenda and his glorification of the "Aryan" race. The few outside the Nazi party who read it dismissed it as nonsense, not believing that anyone could--or would--carry out its radical, terrorist programs. As Hitler and the Nazis gained power, first party members and then the general public were pressured to buy the book. By the time Hitler became chancellor of the Third Reich in 1933, the book stood atop the German bestseller lists. Had the book been taken seriously when it was first published, perhaps the 20th century would have been very different.
Beyond the anger, hatred, bigotry, and self-aggrandizing, Mein Kampf is saddled with tortured prose, meandering narrative, and tangled metaphors (one person was described as "a thorn in the eyes of venal officials"). That said, it is an incredibly important book. It is foolish to think that the Holocaust could not happen again, especially if World War II and its horrors are forgotten. As an Amazon.com reader has pointed out, "If you want to learn about why the Holocaust happened, you can't avoid reading the words of the man who was most responsible for it happening." A Message from the Anti-Defamation League: Mein Kampf was Hitler's blueprint for what later became his war for world domination and for the extermination of the Jews and others. Written eight years before he assumed power in Germany, the book lays it all out: his megalomania, his conspiratorial obsession with Jews and his lust for power. For all who claimed they didn't know, all they had to do was read Mein Kampf to know of Hitler's intentions.

Original Mein Kampf with Tons of Photos

I am not here to criticize or defend Hitler, but as a historian, professor, author and a journalist, I am here to release a factual, fair, unbiased and objective analysis of this book, yet first to make a few points:
I. In America we don’t ban or censor information (like this book is banned in Germany), on the contrary we allow public to read Communist, Fascist, Islamic, Nazi and all other ideologies’ texts, and then judge for themselves about these texts. This is called freedom of information in a democracy.
II. If you avoid the public to read something, they will go to great extent to discover what it is that you avoid them to read. Every action causes a reaction, equal and to the same power, yet in the opposite direction.
III. As much as Hitler is criticized and hated in the West, yet he is admired and adored in many parts of the world such as East Europe (Romania, Bulgaria, and Hungary), Middle East (Turkey, Iran, and many Arab nations) and other areas. So it all depends who you speak to!
IV. Like it or not, Hitler is the architect and creator of a global political and economical ideology named National Socialism (Nazism) which any free thinker or curious person must study like he studies any other ideology.
V. To study and comprehend Nazism you must study and comprehend Mein Kampf (My Struggle) which is basically the Nazi Doctrine written by Adolf Hitler.
This book is the best source of information to do this task. I speak 5 languages. I first read Mein Kampf in Persian (back in Iran) and I last read it in English (this book). I am here to tell you that this book is the original English translation, the best translation and the most accurate translation of Mein Kampf available.
If you are a history buff, student of history, political junkie, information junkie, scholar or just a enthusiastic reader, then this is the most accurate and unbiased (pro or against) version of Mein Kampf to read. This is the original (1939 version) of Mein Kampf in English translated by James Murphy (distinguished Irish translator) to be distributed in the Britain and the Western World. The translation is extremely well done. There is also a fine introduction by Bob Carruthers (Scottish historian, scholar, filmmaker and author) included. In addition it is illustrated with tons of original photos (some rare) from the 1939 publication.
If you want to read Mein Kampf for the first time, brush up on it or read the accurate version, then this is for you. It is the republished copy of the best version available. This book is historically and philosophically valuable and worthy to study and to read. I recommend this book to all.
